@autismsupsoc learning bits of ASL - baby sign language books, actually, have been wonderful.
Just the other day I was able to sign "tired" to my partner instead of having to verbalize, "I'm tired"
@autismsupsoc Lugia, Latios, Lucario, Reshiram, Lunala.
And these are just my top favourites.
@autismsupsoc
The highest statement of endearment I can give a friend, and the list who get this is extremely tiny, is "You don't cost me any spoons". Those on that short list get permission to contact me even when I've gone for alone time. These same friends get the benefit I will, wothout hesitation, burn spoons I cant afford or dont even have if they need me in crisis. They are priceless friends.
Currently, this list consists of 1 human, and 1 cat.
So we are diagnosing fictional characters, most of them probably written by non autistic people, based on clichés, now?
That's beyond dumb, it's harmful.
And it's not even taking into account that it's an incredible stretch to call any of these characters, except for one, "overtly" autistic.

@autismsupsoc My Dad made so much more sense once I realised this, lol.
(He was WW2 generation, so there was no chance he was ever going to have heard of Autism in the way that we have. I'm fairly sure that my Mum had ADHD too -- since it's possible I have both.)
Lol, aye, that checks out. My Dad has passed now (a long time ago) and I think he might have been okay with the idea if someone had explained it to him, but in 80s Wales, there was no concept that Autism was anything other than Rainman/that lad who did really good art from memory.
Primary sexual attraction is lust at first *sense* (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell) ...
Secondary sexual attraction is anything that an individual person finds sexually arousing that isn't Primary.
For example, someone might have sexual attraction for another after forming an emotional connection or sharing an experience.
Many Autists are Peritiosexual, meaning sexually attracted to displays of skill or expertise.
There is no limit as to what Secondary Sexual Attraction can be, its basically defined as "not primary".
Many Autists are demisexual and don't have primary sexual attraction but fail to realize that the majority of people do, resulting in a lot of confusion in relationships.
Almost 50% of Autistic respondents to one of our polls identified as demisexual.

@autismsupsoc
sexual appetite is pretty well down to a person's lifestyle, friends & character traits.
Also opportunity to have and experience of having sexual relations matters big time!
The sexual label you give yourself is personal, not open for debate (unless you get confused by the terms) and true!
Thank you for sharing
@autismsupsoc ok, wow, I hadn't thought of the act of acceptance as a love language. I think I grok it, but I'd love to hear from others what that means to them, @actuallyautistic how do you feel about that?
@Believer48 @loops @autismsupsoc @actuallyautistic
Took me a while to accept "acceptance" as a love language too but acceptance is what I feel from my friend that I refer to as my soul sista.
On a side note, I've seen "this reminded me of you" called "penguin pebbling". I really like that name.
Possibly my favourite meme of all time.
Being in the impossible small venn overlap of Pushing Daisies fan and autistic with these romantic needs met.
