Multi-million dollar idea for Kong, famous makers of indestructible canine chew toys… (written, very badly, as a pitch)
Human-grade for all ages autism sensory support stimming “chew toys.” More like BITE toys (which I know you tend to discourage in your regular clientele [pause for laugh]) — but for those of us who are jaw clenchers / tooth grinders who need a way of feeling the pressure and relief of CHOMPING without slowly destroying the bits of enamel, dentin, and pulp extruding from my skull. All the fun shapes and sizes - big knobby ones - not “slim and discreet” for chewing but multidimensional and different shapes and corners and parts for different degrees of bite size / pressure. (Like a gummy bear, roughly as tall as a cell phone…)(You already make a balloon dog for the, uh, dogs… People could match with their pets! 😂)
……. (at the after-hours corporate party)
Annnnnnd in the adult's corner, we have the “Oh you're clenching your jaw, how about you bite on THIS instead, you naughty girl!” emotional and sensory support ball gag. Made by Kong. It's an untapped market! (Actually, I'm sure the puppy play people have already thought of this. But I'm saying it could be genuinely calming for a sub with this particular stim!) (I would also accept just a willy-shaped Kong toy. I feel like that could be quite cathartic.)
Today I was really frustrated and for a long time. I managed to be civil but I paced and rolled my hair on a finger like it's nobody's business...
Stimming as Self-Knowledge: Listening to Your Body
Stimming is often misunderstood as a behavior to be managed, but for many neurodivergent people it functions as a form of self-knowledge — a direct channel between the nervous system and conscious awareness. This article explores stimming as a body-based language, examining what different self-stimulatory behaviors communicate about sensory load, emotional state, and regulation needs. Rather than treating stimming as a problem to be corrected, the piece invites readers to reframe it as meaningful information worth listening to, and considers what becomes possible when we stop masking our bodys signals and start interpreting them instead.https://dreamspacestudio.net/stimming-as-self-knowledge-listening-to-your-body/
The stim/tic post I did earlier became an internet rabbit hole I fell down. Which became an overly long blog post.
The answer to "is this a stim or a tic?" seems to be "it's complicated." Which is both validating and annoying.
Post also includes: a list of my greatest vocal hits, MrsVark finding my weird noises comforting, and the understanding that "more symptoms" may actually just be "less masking."

Definitely being my authentic autistic self today. Skipping round the house and energetically hand waving (very jazz hand-like stimming) in excitement as today is the start of the UK cricket year (my favorite sport). As games go, for me, it is so full of stats, averages and other numeric delights, and in its long county form (it works via counties rather than towns), it lasts up to 4 days, and I can keep up for free on youtube.
I will go to a few games (the longer format games are quite calm and not loud or busy) but I have my hobby back, and something to chat about with people, which is nice too.
Happy good Friday to all
