I just saw the gals on America's Test Kitchen (one of my favorites!) make a triple berry slab pie that looks so good I would bake one right now if I had all the ingredients. I can almost taste it now.

I generally don't like pie much. Pumpkin, cherry, apple ... most are meh to me. For some reason, though, I love mince pie. Unfortunately, that's nearly impossible to find anywhere. Every once in a while, my wife will make a homemade mince pie for me.

She used figs, dates, raisins and other fruits soaked for days in rum. There was also homemade whipped cream. So over the top delicious that I hated taking the last bite to make it all disappear.
