A while ago I wrote and shared a poem about the gradual hearing loss I am experiencing. For the past couple of weeks I've been having episodes of sudden deafness in my right ear that last for a few hours. This morning at 5 am, I woke up from a nightmare caused by pain in my right ear. I dreamt that someone was firing a gun very close to my ear (something that actually happened 40 years ago when I was in the army, an accident). The scream scared my wife and I couldn't go back to sleep. I had to take painkillers and my wife is going to buy antibiotics because this is an ear infection.
What's the point of this story? It's precisely the slow and inevitable process of total hearing loss in an autoimmune disease. I know I'm going to go completely deaf, I have no doubt about it. And I'm mentally prepared for that. But it still feels like a loss. And it's not easy...

As an AuDHD, non-binary trans+ woman / fem / disaster, who has struggled with voice training and voice dysphoria for years, it was a breathe of fresh air to hear some gender-non-conforming trans+ singing voices in a random video that YouTube recommended to us

We wish that more content like this, and more voices like these, were more prominent online  

If that occurred, it might help to break down the sense of failure that the majority of us have for not being able to achieve anywhere near a "cis-passing" voice, let alone achieve a voice that meets our own basic voice goals.

And maybe, just maybe, it might help to counteract a bit of the survivorship bias displayed by some of those who have reached the peak of the voice training mountain.

Das Kind ist seid heute früh im Hyperfokus.
Zwei Mal musste ich es liebevoll unterbrechen. Einmal um etwas zu essen, das zweite Mal für dieses lästige Ding namens Hausaufgaben.
Es hat sich gestern so ein Geologie-Set ausgesucht und arbeitet nun sehr präzise alle Steine aus dem Gips heraus. Dabei hat es nach Anleitung den Block exakt in gleich große Quadrate eingeteilt (mit einem Geodreieck)
