Getting tired of matrix not loading any images from any EMS controlled server. (Kde.org and gnome.org for example).

After they enabled authenticated media, I have always had issues with any EMS server. The files download 1 or 2 hours late, if ever.

I am running synapse on beefy vps, no other homeserver has issues, it's only the EMS ones.

Any help with this? Please refrain from spamming with "matrix sux" shitposts because I am not interested. I use Matrix because KDE uses it, that's all.

The makers of Mattermost are making their product increasingly annoying. Couple of months ago Mattermost started to show a nag screen to convince us to get a paid license, today it's threatening to take away our own data:

I haven't clicked the 'Restore Access' button of course, the thought that I'm probably being rick-rolled into yet another "get a paid subscription" nag screen is enough to keep me from doing that.

Never seen any such nag screen or thinly veiled threat in Matrix, even though I've used Matrix much longer and much more intensively than Mattermost... 🤔

@daniel @element @element is just doing marketing, which is totally fine because they don't make marketing against other decentralized protocols as far as I know.

Without a marketing budget or a good long time reputation it's hard to get any users even when you may have a cool independent messenger client no one knows about. And there are a lot of individuals, teams and companies that don't have a marketing budget independent of supporting #Matrix #XMPP or #DeltaChat .

At the end I think fighting each others is not a good or fair idea, because we're all on the same side against big tech and for a decentralized internet.
