Tensione davanti al padiglione della Russia alla Biennale di Venezia nel giorno dell’apertura ufficiale su invito. Grande schieramento di polizia e manifestanti, alcuni con le bandiere ucraine, che gridano “Russia Stato terrorista” e mostrano cartelli con scritte contro Mosca.
Dentro il padiglione al piano superiore durante un’esibizione un giovane ha lanciato verso il pubblico il contenuto di una bottiglia di latte e ha scaraventato contro il muro una fetta di parmigiano, ma è stato subito bloccato dalle forze dell’ordine.
Una ventina di persone hanno avuto i vestiti macchiati dal latte. Né l’ambasciatore russo né la commissaria del padiglione sono stati colpiti. “Per noi è importante che la Biennale di Venezia non sia uno spazio per Paesi che commettono genocidi e che continuano le loro occupazioni”, dice una manifestante polacca, al fianco di un’ucraina.

Tension gripped the Russian pavilion at the Venice Biennale on the opening day by invitation, with a large police presence and protesters, some carrying Ukrainian flags, shouting “Russia is a state terrorista” and displaying signs against Moscow.

Inside the upper-level pavilion during an exhibition, a young man threw the contents of a milk bottle at the audience and hurled a slice of Parmesan cheese against a wall, but he was immediately stopped by law enforcement.

Around twenty people had their clothes stained with milk. Neither the Russian ambassador nor the pavilion commissioner was hit. “For us, it’s important that the Venice Biennale is not a space for countries that commit genocides and continue their occupations,” said a Polish protester, standing alongside a Ukrainian.
