@metin @edgeofeurope If the base word ends in a silent "e", this is dropped when adding the suffix "able", unless doing so would change the pronunciation of the base word. As Metin said, both variants are in use, but "makeable" seems to be more common nowadays (see the attached graphics created using Google Ngram Viewer).

@daniel @edgeofeurope Thanks for the info, Daniel! I should have trusted my gut feeling and keep what I had first, which was “makeable,” but I chose to go for what the spell checker indicated. But now we know both aren’t wrong. 🙂

@daniel @metin @edgeofeurope FWIW Makeable would be my prefered spelling, the 'e' after the k can be thought of as making the a into ä in Deutsch. Although as you see in my explanation "making" isn't playing by that rule.
English is the most ridiculous language for spelling and has almost no logical rules. The OED defaults to makeable, but the other spelling is a derivative so also correct.

Dang, I didn't realize Apple owned Steve Jobs' image and likeness.

@chris I also didn't know, until I received the letter. Apple's legal department apparently represents the Jobs beneficiaries. I guess it's beneficial to Apple too, as Jobs is an Apple icon, and they don't want to risk losing any control of their image, not even when an innocent little 3D-printed tribute appears and gains some publicity. 🙂

@metin I somehow always have problems imagining what other people like. Or people in general. 🤷 While your character design is cool, I can not wrap my head around why I would want Steve Jobs on my desk. Or Walter White. Please tell me you only sold like 2 of them or so? 😬 No? Yes?
