#ICON team earns international recognition in #HPC🏆👏
What an outstanding achievement! Using the ICON Earth system model, a team led by #MPIM + #DKRZ successfully simulated the full Earth system at an unprecedented grid spacing of 1.25 km. For this, they received the Gordon Bell Prize for #ClimateModeling, awarded at #SC25. The team also included experts from #JSC, #ETH Zurich, CSCS, #UHH, & #NVIDIA. We're thrilled, proud, & grateful for this wonderful recognition! 🎉

🏳️‍⚧️💖 Next in my remembrances is, Jacqueline Charlotte Dufresnoy; better known as-- Coccinelle (8/23/ 1931 – 10/9/2006). She was a French cabaret entertainer, singer, actress, and transgender woman. She was one of the first people to successfully receive bottom surgery in Europe as a celebrity. She was an amazing entertainer and a huge presence across media. An openly transgender woman was able to receive a great deal of fame, and being dubbed "blonde bombshell" was achieved in the 1950's -- well before our kin found representation and acceptance.💖🏳️‍⚧️
