Totally not how I imagined my character model to be, lol :D

seems like I have to learn a lot more

I'm also tinkering with Scene Layer passes, material emitters, composition, non-hair particles, etc... Trivia: the flames are purposefully made of tetrahedra, which is the platonic solid for fire in Kepler's Harmonice Mundi. I've also used lots of golden ratios as material values.

Alt-text: a rendered animation video featuring a feminine demonic figure (meant to symbolize Lilith), whose body is invisible (only the dress, wings, hair and horns are visible), standing at the center of a fiery circumscribed upside-down pentagram. The extremely wide wings are opened, and its crimson plumage-like texture is barely made visible amidst the light of the flames. The dress, also red, has a leather-like appearance, with the specular light accentuating her body shape. The short, bob-style hair, also red, is covered in darkness. The short horns are also covered in darkness. At the background, a dark red sky is barely visible, and the landscape is fully black. For this animation specifically, there's no body yet, and the figure is statically standing while the flames emanate from the pentagram and oscillating.

MAYA - 02 Modelado - 44 Menú Mesh Tools (Parte 13): Slide Edge

I lost count on how many times I've been redoing the same 3D project over and over again, starting a fresh .blend file every time I do so. Every iteration comes with different ways to summon a representation for the same figure.

I initially tried to sculpt a anthropomorphic vessel from scratch.

Then I discovered MB-Lab and I found a version that worked with my Blender 2.x version.

Then I migrated to Blender 3.6 and I discovered CharMorph: faster and, to some extent, better than MB-Lab.

Then I discovered how "Antonia Polygon" anthropomorphic basis has quite of a misleading name: when I saw this name the list, the first thought I had was some kind of low-poly model, but I realized I was wrong as soon as I searched for additional rigged 3D models for CharMorph and stumbled upon a model named "Vitruvian" which led me to an old webpage about "Antonia Polygon" (from which "Vitruvian" was forked) with images. The images made me realize this model was even better for the figure I'm trying to (literally and metaphorically) conjure.

I've been tinkering with the "new" (to me and to my old computer) Blender hair system.

I've been tinkering with cloth physics and other physics features.

I've been tinkering with posing and animation.

I've been tinkering with my own DIY stereoscopic camera systems (I literally managed to mount a pair of cameras at the model's eyes and made it point/aim towards the tail of the bone controlling the gaze so the cameras effectively "look at" the same direction that of the model's eyes).

I've been tinkering with lots of different things, yet the goal seems the same: conjuring the same figure (you know Who) into the most "biblically-accurate" 3D-mesh representation possible (at least both for my skills and for my computer), because every time I'm quite advanced at modelling, it feels like I should do the project anew.

And I'm yet to continue sculpting the strigimorphic model. The Blender hair/fur system will be
sine qua non to this, although my potato computer cries while trying to render thousands of hair curves while also having to simulate the Newtonian physics needed for the hair to achieve its "hair behavior" typical of hairs.

I introduced myself to the #fediverse 5 years ago today.

A lot has happened in the past 5 years, for me personally and in the world. I now live in the opposite corner of the continental US, and I work for a different employer - and from home instead of at a warehouse. I've also published more novels since then.

Allow me to re-introduce myself, as I am now in 2026, by way of a hash of hashtags:
