Continuing to read Song of Susannah. The Manni feature prominently in these opening chapters having agreed to use their "magic" to help Roland & gang activate the door in the cave and seek out Susannah.

I just splurged on a pile of books from my favorite independent bookstore, Bookshop Santa Cruz!

I've been feeling the urge to actually READ the books I just skimmed in school as a teenager. Like, maybe one reason I feel so disconnected from others is the fact that I never actually read anything that I was supposed to read.

Taking it easy this Sunday, watching the AC/DC musical - I mean, Maximum Overdrive, just shy of the film's 40th anniversary.

Goofy and cocaine-fueled as it is, a movie about machines trying to murder people of their own volition feels kind of prescient in 2026.

Roland and Eddie speak with the Manni at Calla Bryn Sturgis about the "magic" door that they need to use to go hunt for Susannah. Meanwhile, the whole town shakes from a Beamquake - the collapsing of one of the 12 Beams of the Tower.

It was a helluva start to Song of Susannah! I now move onto "The Persistence of Magic: 2nd Stanza".

It's a glorious day to begin a new book in my Stephen King Journey! Today, I start on my 18th book, 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗵.

It's one of the shortest of The Dark Tower series and I hear it's the weirdest. I read it when it first came out over 20 years ago and other than the appearance of a certain famous author in it, I remember absolutely nothin.
