Israele non è più una democrazia nel concetto europeo“.

Nel corso del colloquio con il quotidiano, Tajani ha spiegato che l'Italia condivide "in modo indignato" le parole pronunciate dal premier israeliano Benjamin Netanyahu sulla vicenda. "Abbiamo chiesto al governo israeliano di garantire l'incolumita' fisica e il rimpatrio immediato di tutti i civili fermati dalle forze israeliane", ha aggiunto il capo della diplomazia italiana.
Sempre nell'intervista, Tajani ha sottolineato come "Netanyahu abbia preso parzialmente le distanze da Ben Gvir", ribadendo che, sebbene "Israele debba difendere i suoi cittadini", l'auspicio dell'Italia è che il prossimo esecutivo di Tel Aviv "tenga conto piu' di quanto e' avvenuto nel passato recente e della necessita' di evitare abusi, provocazioni, violenze contro la popolazione civile palestinese a Gaza, come in Cisgiordania".

"Partecipare a questo evento è una questione seria in termini di valori ed etica", ha commentato il deputato Yoav Seglovitz, ex capo della divisione investigativa e di intelligence, criticando la presenza alla festa di almeno dodici esponenti dei vertici delle forze dell'ordine e della polizia penitenziaria, come rivelato da Yedioth Ahronoth.

Duro anche il leader dei Democratici che su X ha definito "una vergogna" il capo della polizia che "manda i suoi colleghi a umiliarsi durante una festa politica mentre la criminalità dilaga". "Chiunque preferisca l'adulazione a buon mercato di un ministro criminale alla sicurezza pubblica non merita di comandare", ha aggiunto Golan. Gli ha fatto eco Bennett, per il quale "un funzionario pubblico che viola il suo dovere di lealtà verso lo Stato e sfrutta la sua posizione in modo politico anziché professionale, verrà rimosso immediatamente".
