Sto leggendo La saggezza del convento un libro che è stato stroncato da #Avvenire con un articolo impietoso a firma di Luigino Bruni. Certo, non ne esce un bel quadro del monachesimo, ma semmai un quadro reale nel Seicento come oggi, condito con tanta simpatia dai parallelismi della vita delle autrici con quella delle monache. Questo sì, alla fine risulta un po' ripetitivo.

Centoventitré città in cui firmare, sabato 30 e domenica 31 maggio. La ragione? Chiedere l’abolizione del finanziamento pubblico ai giornali. L’associazione Schierarsi lancia il firma day, da Nord a Sud, dalla Sicilia al Trentino Alto-Adige, coi banchetti nelle principali piazze. La raccolta delle sigle è iniziata ufficialmente il 27 di aprile, gli organizzatori hanno tre mesi di tempo per arrivare a quota 500mila e al momento ne sono arrivate più di 165mila. Un terzo del cammino, in pratica.
Ciò che si chiede è di eliminare il contributo diretto per i giornali realizzati da cooperative di giornalisti, società senza fini di lucro o espressione di minoranze linguistiche. Non, quindi, il Fondo straordinario a sostegno dell’editoria (10 centesimi a copia venduta) a cui il Fatto Quotidiano ha rinunciato. I dati più recenti ci dicono che ad aver beneficiato del contributo diretto sono il Dolomiten (per oltre 6 milioni di euro), Famiglia Cristiana (6 milioni di euro), Avvenire (circa 5,5 milioni di euro) e Libero (5,4). Ma ci sono anche il Foglio, il Manifesto e il Secolo d’Italia.

One hundred and twenty-three cities to sign, Saturday, May 30th and Sunday, May 31st. The reason? To ask for the abolition of public funding for newspapers. The Schierarsi association is launching a signature day, from North to South, from Sicily to Trentino Alto-Adige, with booths in the main squares. He also enjoyed teasing the professors with impromptu performances: one morning, at the beginning of Italian class, he stood up and announced to the stunned students that he had discovered a secret about the Italian teacher, who was a renowned communist intellectual: “He writes on Avvenire, the newspaper of the bishops!” Everyone looks at the teacher, who smiles patiently (even today that comedian is surprised by his impetuosity, but the fact that he was one of the smart kids at the institution, which allowed him to know words like “impetuosity”) “And this is the proof!”, he said, with the magician’s exuberance of pulling a rabbit out of a hat, pulling from the soft brick-colored leather folder (the same with which his father had made the gymnasium) a photocopy of a fake first page of Avvenire that he had doctored to appear real (the work of an entire afternoon: transferrable, glue, scissors and photocopier, at the time there was no Photoshop), in which a six-column headline, “The courage of the truth,” a recurring phrase of the teacher, was displayed.
The giggles became laughter when that comedian began to read the article, a parody of the lesson of the previous day on Leopardi. The teacher laughed too, and continued to laugh during the interrogation he immediately gave her. Always her, later, noticing her talent, she proposed to collaborate with satirical cartoons on the bolognian pages of Unità (He, a good boy Catholic, ending up on Unità? Never! Ten years later, Staino published some of his satirical cartoons on Tango).
That comedian also wrote humorous short stories, fueled by an apprenticeship, lasting the three summers of middle school, with a remarkably witty contemporary whose father had a home office equipped with an Olivetti and a Philips cassette recorder. There, the two young Amurri and Verde wrote surreal texts and recorded fake radio programs, laughing all afternoon; and with them the friends who, knowing this, came to visit and settled on the sofa as if in a theater (when a third voice was needed, the two called their younger brother, who would also become famous: he was only 6 years old, but already with perfect comedic timing).
Let’s return to the gymnasium. One of the short stories featured a school inspector who, after a bank robbery, interrogated the witnesses and convinced himself that the thief was the cashier, the only one with a motive, the ability, and the opportunity; but the inspector had no proof. Then he organized a elaborate staging, for which the cashier ended up believing she was in a dream. At this point, the inspector (who was called Duerf: but how awake that boy was?) ridiculed her, telling her that the theft was useless, because you can’t take anything away from dreams, upon waking; but he would have liked to know how she had done it. The vain cashier told him, it was a dream. And the inspector Duerf arrested her. (Incredible? Not more than an investigation in Garlasco).
The satirical books of that comedian recall facts that sometimes only today, with the benefit of hindsight, can be fully appreciated. For example, in the 2001 election campaign, Berlusconi took issue with the editor of El Mundo, a conservative newspaper in Spain that supported Aznar and which had expressed strong criticism of Berlusconi due to his conflicts of interest and judicial problems. Regarding the editor of the Mundo, Berlusconi said: “What do you want to listen to the editor of the Mundo, who made half of Europe laugh with a video showing him being whipped by a prostitute!” That comedian commented: “Well, this increases my esteem for the editor of the Mundo. I’d like to see Berlusconi whipped by a prostitute. This would increase my esteem for the prostitute.”
20 years later, the whole world was laughing at Berlusconi, the "bunga bunga" pimp; who knows how many laughs the editor of the Mundo got.

AGI - L'Italia ha chiesto formalmente all'Unione europea di sanzionare il ministro israeliano della Sicurezza nazionale, Itamar Ben-Gvir, in seguito agli abusi compiuti contro gli attivisti della Freedom Flotilla. L'annuncio è arrivato direttamente dal ministro degli Esteri, Antonio Tajani, che ha affidato alla piattaforma X la comunicazione della svolta diplomatica.
"A nome del governo italiano ho appena formalmente chiesto all'Alto Rappresentante Kaja Kallas di includere nella prossima discussione dei ministri degli Esteri Ue l'adozione di sanzioni contro il ministro per la Sicurezza nazionale israeliano Ben-Gvir per gli inaccettabili atti compiuti contro la Flotilla, prelevando gli attivisti in acque internazionali e sottoponendoli a vessazioni e umiliazioni, violando i più elementari diritti umani", ha scritto il titolare della Farnesina.
L'avvertimento di Tajani: "Ci saranno conseguenze"
La dura presa di posizione del governo italiano è stata ulteriormente approfondita dallo stesso Tajani in un'intervista rilasciata ad Avvenire. Il ministro ha chiarito che "ci saranno conseguenze politiche" in merito a quanto accaduto nel porto israeliano in cui erano stati condotti gli attivisti dopo essere stati fermati dalle forze di Tel Aviv.
Nel corso del colloquio con il quotidiano, Tajani ha spiegato che l'Italia condivide "in modo indignato" le parole pronunciate dal premier israeliano Benjamin Netanyahu sulla vicenda. "Abbiamo chiesto al governo israeliano di garantire l'incolumita' fisica e il rimpatrio immediato di tutti i civili fermati dalle forze israeliane", ha aggiunto il capo della diplomazia italiana.
Sempre nell'intervista, Tajani ha sottolineato come "Netanyahu abbia preso parzialmente le distanze da Ben Gvir", ribadendo che, sebbene "Israele debba difendere i suoi cittadini", l'auspicio dell'Italia è che il prossimo esecutivo di Tel Aviv "tenga conto piu' di quanto e' avvenuto nel passato recente e della necessita' di evitare abusi, provocazioni, violenze contro la popolazione civile palestinese a Gaza, come in Cisgiordania".

During the interview with the newspaper, Tajani explained that Italy shares “with indignation” the words spoken by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the matter. “We have asked the Israeli government to guarantee the physical safety and immediate repatriation of all civilians arrested by Israeli forces,” added the head of Italian diplomacy.

Always in the interview, Tajani emphasized that “Netanyahu has taken partial distance from Ben Gvir,” reiterating that while “Israel must defend its citizens,” Italy hopes that the next government of Tel Aviv “will take into account more than what has happened in recent times and the need to avoid abuses, provocations, violence against the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza, as in the West Bank.”
