Sarebbe bastata una semplice applicazione del cellulare a tradire la riservatezza della flotta francese. Grazie alla localizzazione attivata dall'app del telefono di un marinaio, è stato possibile rintracciare la posizione in tempo reale della portaerei Charles del Gaulle, gioiello della "force de frappe" che, secondo il quotidiano Le Monde, si trova nel Mediterraneo Orientale. Il giornale, che ha consultato il profilo pubblico del marinaio, ha riscontrato che questo abbia effettuato il login nell'applicazione di fitness "Strava" lo scorso 13 marzo, emettendo così un segnale che avrebbe tradito la sua posizione a nord-ovest di Cipro.
Lo Stato maggiore delle Forze Armate francesi ha commentato: "Il caso, se confermato, non è conforme alle consegne in vigore. Il comando prenderà misure conseguenti"

Thanks to the location feature activated by a sailor’s phone app, it was possible to track the real-time position of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, a jewel of the “force de frappe,” which, according to the Le Monde newspaper, is located in the Eastern Mediterranean. The newspaper, having consulted the sailor’s public profile, found that he had logged into the fitness app “Strava” on March 13th, thus emitting a signal that betrayed his location northwest of Cyprus. The French Armed Forces High Command commented: “The case, if confirmed, is not in compliance with current regulations. Command will take subsequent measures.”

Ospite del podcast di Oprah Winfrey, l’ex responsabile HR di Astronomer ha raccontato di aver creduto che Andy Byron, allora amministratore delegato dell’azienda, fosse già in fase di separazione dalla moglie quando tra loro è iniziata la frequentazione. Anche Cabot, all’epoca, era sposata ma stava divorziando. Proprio questa situazione parallela, almeno così le appariva, avrebbe contribuito a rendere naturale il rapporto. Fino a quel momento, diventato poi virale, in cui i due sono stati ripresi mentre cercavano goffamente di sottrarsi all’inquadratura durante il concerto. Oggi Cabot dice di aver chiuso ogni contatto con Byron già mesi fa, lo scorso autunno. Ma quando le viene chiesto di chiarire nel dettaglio le presunte bugie, si ferma: “Non voglio fare agli altri quello che è stato fatto a me. Il mondo ha già parlato troppo”.
Un passaggio che segna anche una svolta rispetto al passato: nell’intervista rilasciata al New York Times a dicembre, infatti, non aveva mai parlato apertamente di menzogne. A guest on Oprah Winfrey’s podcast, the former HR manager of Astronomer recounted believing that Andy Byron, then CEO of the company, was already in the process of divorcing his wife when their relationship began. A conviction that today seems unfounded. “It wasn’t the person they said they were. For me, lying is something you can’t negotiate. She completely lacked honesty.”
