A ★★★★½ review of Obsession (2025)

The Toni Collette Award for great performance in a horror movie that should have gotten Awards Show love goes to Inde Navarrette and she also needs an award for having two 'A's", two t's, and two n's in her last name. The Male Creepiness Epidemic is thriving, apparently. Equal parts laughs and gore (never has duct tape been so funny and scary at the same time), but spaced out well enough to keep you off balance. The Monkey's Paw scenario feels familiar and the ending is telegraphed but so much of Obsession just makes you feel uncomfortable that you don't

Happy #LetterboxdFriday !

A truly fantastic day at the movies yesterday. Granted, Obsession was a rewatch, but still. If anything, it got under my skin even more, cementing its place in my top 3 on the year so far.

So even my severe disappointment at Decorado, the newest film from the Birdboy guy, couldn't ruin it.

Meanwhile, finishing up the Three Colors trilogy finally. Excited to rewatch Red tomorrow after seeing the others for the first time.
