California Governor Gavin Newsom criticized policies of Israeli government, saying its actions lead to describing it as apartheid, and called for a reconsideration of nature of US military support for it.
He also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that internal political challenges he faces may affect his decisions in managing war.
Newsom questioned effectiveness of war waged by United States and Israel against Iran, criticizing proposals to change Iranian regime. He said Israel has not been able to end conflict with Hamas despite years passing, making talk of regime change in Iran unrealistic.
