Una torta di compleanno con un cappio a decorarla. Così la moglie di Ben-Gvir, Ayala, ha voluto omaggiare il marito, ministro della sicurezza nazionale israeliano. Il riferimento è alla controversa e criticata legge sulla pena di morte per i terroristi palestinesi di cui Ben-Gvir, leader di estrema destra, è stato un accesso promotore. “Congratulazioni al ministro Ben Gvir, a volte i sogni diventano realtà”, la frase scritta sulla torta che gli è stata consegnata durante la festa.
Il video del dolce ha fatto rapidamente il giro del web ed è stato pubblicato anche sui social ufficiali del partito, Otzmá Yehudit, formazione politica di estrema destra, come riportato dal Times of Israel. La stessa testata riporta che Ben-Gvir, che ha tra le sue competenze quella di supervisione della polizia ed è da tempo criticato per presunte ingerenze indebite sulle forze dell’ordine, ha celebrato la festa ieri sera in una location nella comunità agricola di Emunim, vicino ad Ashdod, nel sud di Israele. Tra gli invitati, aggiunge il Times of Israel, c’erano “altri politici di alto livello, attivisti dell’estrema destra e membri dello stato maggiore della polizia”.

The reference is to the controversial and criticized law on the death penalty for Palestinian terrorists of which Ben-Gvir, a far-right leader, was a key promoter. “Congratulations to Minister Ben Gvir, sometimes dreams come true,” the message written on the cake that was delivered to him during the party.
The video of the cake quickly went viral and was also posted on the social media accounts of the Otzmá Yehudit party, a far-right political formation, as reported by the Times of Israel. The same outlet reports that Ben-Gvir, who has expertise in police supervision and has long been criticized for alleged undue interference with law enforcement, celebrated the party yesterday evening at a location in the Emunim agricultural community, near Ashdod, in southern Israel. Among the guests, the Times of Israel adds, were “other high-ranking politicians, far-right activists, and members of the police general staff.”
