Il Tempo: Iran, il No degli Alleati che fa infuriare gli Usa: "Rivaluteremo la Nato"
Prima il No alla missione nello Stretto di Hormuz, poi il divieto di sorvolo e utilizzo delle basi. Nel corso della guerra in Iran, le scelte dei membri Nato di distaccarsi dall'alleato Usa hanno spinto Washington a dover "rivalutare" il rapporto in seno all'Alleanza Atlantica una volta terminato il conflitto. A farlo presente è stato il Segretario di Stato, Marco Rubio, nel corso di una intervista a Fox News. "Credo, purtroppo, che dovremo rivalutare se questa alleanza, che ha servito bene questo Paese per un certo periodo, stia ancora servendo a tale scopo - ha detto - Se siamo arrivati al punto in cui l'alleanza Nato significa che non possiamo utilizzare le basi militari statunitensi in Europa, allora la Nato è una strada a senso unico". È l'ennesimo attrito, non di certo nuovo, all'interno di un'organizzazione difensiva che sin dalla propria fondazione nel 1949 ha vissuto momenti altalenanti.
Nel frattempo, è atteso per le prossime ore di oggi 1° aprile un discorso alla nazione del presidente Usa Donald Trump, che sulla durata del conflitto aveva detto: "Quando avremo la sensazione che, per un lungo periodo di tempo, saranno rimasti all'età della pietra e non saranno in grado di sviluppare un'arma nucleare, allora ce ne andremo".
Un braccio di ferro, che Teheran rilancia a partire dalla pressione economica. È infatti di ieri la notizia dell'introduzione, da parte della Commissione per la Sicurezza Nazionale, di un piano di pedaggi per le navi che attraversano Hormuz. Non solo, il membro della commissione Mojatba Zarei ha affermato che il disegno di legge include anche restrizioni che impediscono alle navi con legami con Usa e Israele di attraversare lo Stretto. Mentre ulteriori disposizioni vieterebbero l'accesso ai paesi che hanno aderito alle sanzioni unilaterali contro l'Iran. La legge dovrà essere approvata dall'intero parlamento prima di essere esaminata dal Consiglio dei Guardiani e firmata dal presidente per entrare in vigore, ma è l'ennesimo tassello che acuisce una crisi regionale nel pieno del suo sviluppo.

A tug-of-war, which Tehran is relaunching starting with economic pressure. Indeed, the news from yesterday was the introduction, by the National Security Commission, of a toll plan for ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Not only that, Commission member Mojatba Zarei stated that the bill also includes restrictions that prevent ships with ties to the US and Israel from crossing the Strait. Further provisions would also ban access to countries that have adopted unilateral sanctions against Iran. The law must be passed by the entire parliament before being examined by the Guardian Council and signed by the president to take effect, but it is the latest piece that sharpens a regional crisis in the full development of its progression.
