Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has launched a recruitment competition to appoint two Non-Executive Members to the Board of the Northern
#Ireland #Transport Holding Company (NITHC). Established under the Transport Act (NI) 1967, NITHC oversees assets and its main subsidiaries—Ulsterbus, Metro and Northern Ireland Railways—operating as Translink. The organisation is expected to run commercially while aligning with ministerial policy. Kimmins described the roles as key to improving efficiency and promoting public transport, encouraging suitable candidates to apply. The posts require around two days per month, with attendance at board and ad hoc meetings. Annual remuneration is about £13,848, rising to £15,381 for subcommittee chairs, plus expenses. Appointments begin on 1 October 2026 for four years. Applications from under-represented groups are particularly encouraged.
