@theyycmonk I’m not sure about proton at this stage. There’s #xprivo which guarantees privacy and no logging and is European. It’s not the smartest but it has a useful search engine.

@tante also speaking of hype dying out hopefully, there are enough free alternatives to get simple jobs done for casual users (ie summaries or translation). I’ve stopped using #Mistral when I realized it was in fact running on USA infra and now using #xPrivo which is 100% EU and open source (even self-hosted option). Canceled my #Claude subscription a month ago.

I started using Xprivo as my main search engine, which is powered by the new index created by qwant and ecosia.

FUCKING FINALLY

After all this time struggling with Qwant (who claim that 50% of their search queries goes through Staan, but definitely not mine), I can finally use some search engine that is not Google, which is simply very good.
