That's very cool, @mapache

FediProfile — The Decentralized Link-in-Bio

Your links, badges, and identity — powered by the Fediverse. The open-source, federated alternative to Linktree.

@Edent @dajb I have no personal experience, because I only came across it while looking at the #fediprofile project, but @mapache also has a project called badgefed here https://github.com/tryvocalcat/badgefed

This was my intention with #fediprofile, I needed a simple, approachable way for non-fediverse people to create a profile, that could receive activitypub badges (hence a fediverse account).

An introduction of sorts, so that #fediprofile is the wallet. The CTA is configurable so you can put joinmastodon.org if you self-host badgefed, or any other link you want.

Anyway, #fediprofile supports boosting #pixelfed now

Thanks to all people testing the #fediprofile hub!

I just released a small but mighty update to allow you to sort the links. Try it and send more feedback!

So, I am considering hosting a microblogging social instance to get integrations going for #badgefed and #fediprofile, I think I am at the point of needing to do what I have always avoided.

What are your recommendations? It should be EASY for the final user, UX over everything. I can handle the hosting and technical aspects, but I am a newbie in moderation.

#mastodon #gotosocial others?

#askfedi

I cannot develop myself #fediprofile and #badgefed to the extent and in the pace that I want to take them, and also, I am not a designer/accessibility/front-end expert.

I have decided to apply for funding in #nlnet, if someone has some recommendations or tips lmk.

@mapache

Thinking about it...
If i start to follow your #fediprofile maybe i'm already following your mastodon, or pixelfed and I just want to be sure to follow also your loops or bookwyrm.

That will end up receiving duplicates.

Maybe following a #fediprofile should be translated into the action of following all the individuals account listed there.
No boost

Is this the final, perfect solution to identity in the fediverse? Probably not. Actually, I am sure is not. It might be a workaround.

But it’s a feasible, working solution TODAY, while we collectively design and implement something better.

My #fediprofile functions almost as a relay of me. (And I still want to dig into how to make it 2 ways interactive with a @HolosSocial relay).

But Fediprofile feels like an accessible (and easy to understand) portable identity, server independent, user-owned presence.
