Serverless
Clodufare r2 tunnels (2) for a microservice ( my humble api in rust )
Cludefare r2 storage (2) + attic (2) + cachix ( 3)
Secret provisoning for ~18 tokens
1/2 from a ui I considered unnecessarily complicated for a long time
+ the extra task of storing replicated data on s3
Seems like a cognitive load for architecture plan of 2 tasks which were simple to implement

So, where do the cool kids host their code these days? I went to GitLab and saw “Finally, AI for the entire software lifecycle” – ok, I guess this means no GitLab for me. Codeberg then? Or something else?

Note: no, I’m not self-hosting. Yes, I know how to do it, I’ve been doing it for a decade. But I still won’t.

✅ Github Account closed before Apr 24 Data leaching.

Thankfully for me, only used for coms, no code, but feel for those poor sods who thought thier 'Private' repo was actually *private*

✅ Local Forgejo box replaces gitlab, up, running and backing up regularly.

It's lighter weight, *free* forever, not at risk of corporate buyout and subsequent #Enshitification, #leaching AI Training

Use #Forgejo instead, your future self will thank you.

Si vous avez du code non libre hébergé sur #Github et que vous ne souhaitez pas qu'il serve à entrainer l'IA #Copilot il va falloir faire un opt out. On peut imager que tout ce qui est déjà en #CC0 ou #WTFPL est déjà utilisé et de toutes façons ... c'est du code publique. Concernant la license #GPL c'est autre chose, c'est en cours de jugement apparemment, mais préparez vous au futur changement des CGU imposant l'entrainement de Copilot en hébergeant une instance #Gitlab
