Lo stesso fa Benjamin Netanyahu poche ore dopo: il comportamento di Ben Gvir «non è in linea con i valori e le norme dello Stato di Israele». Da Roma Sergio Mattarella parla di «livello infimo», Giorgia Meloni e Antonio Tajani chiedono «scuse immediate».
Lo schema della falsa eccezione regge un pomeriggio. La pena di morte per i palestinesi giudicati nei tribunali militari, primo cavallo di battaglia di Ben Gvir, è stata approvata dalla Knesset il 30 marzo coi voti compatti del Likud, il partito di Netanyahu. Il piano di «migrazione volontaria» da Gaza, ricondotto da Euro-Med Monitor allo schema giuridico della pulizia etnica, è uscito dal gabinetto di sicurezza a marzo 2025 a firma del ministro della Difesa Israel Katz. La Corte internazionale di giustizia parla di plausible genocide. La Corte penale internazionale, riferisce Middle East Eye, ha già chiesto mandati d’arresto sigillati per Bezalel Smotrich, Orit Strock e due ufficiali dell’esercito. Ben Gvir, da gennaio, è di nuovo dentro la coalizione: era uscito dopo la tregua di gennaio 2025, è rientrato a marzo quando il governo ha ripreso i bombardamenti.

Tel Aviv dichiara guerra anche al New York Times per un articolo che riporta abusi sessuali su detenuti palestinesi nelle carceri israeliane. “A seguito della pubblicazione di Nicholas Kristof di una delle menzogne più orribili e distorte mai pubblicate contro lo Stato di Israele sulla stampa moderna – si legge in un comunicato del ministero degli Esteri israeliano -, il primo ministro Benyamin Netanyahu e il ministro degli Esteri Gideon Sàar hanno ordinato l’avvio di un’azione legale per diffamazione contro il New York Times“. L’articolo “si basa su fonti non verificate legate a reti connesse ad Hamas. La fonte principale è l’Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, il cui fondatore Ramy Abdu ha legami documentati con alti dirigenti di Hamas. Questo non è giornalismo. È propaganda di Hamas, una distorsione della verità e dei fatti”, ha aggiunto il ministero degli Esteri.

Il Tempo: Corona choc sul ministro israeliano: "Vorrei vederlo con il cappio al collo"

La puntata di martedì 5 maggio di È sempre Cartabianca, su Rete 4, si apre con il consueto dialogo tra la conduttrice Bianca Berlinguer e lo scrittore Mauro Corona. Si parla della morte di Alex Zanardi, che l'autore e alpinista aveva conosciuto ("un uomo di una dolcezza unica e di bontà"), ma anche delle varie tensioni internazionali.
Corona viene chiamato a commentare la vicenda della seconda spedizione della Global Sumud Flotilla, fermata dalla marina israeliana all'altezza dell'isola di Creta con vari attivisti trattenuti in Israele. "È ammirevole questo riprovarci della Flotilla, sapendo bene che non otterranno nulla, ma probabilmente otterranno l'attenzione di nuovo su Gaza che è andata completamente dispersa". Tuttavia, avverte lo scrittore, "questi ragazzi devono anche stare attenti perché lì non vanno da mezze misure. Gente come Netanyahu non ha problemi, e non vorrei che capitasse un altro caso Regeni, perché quelli non scherzano".

Il discorso si accende ulteriormente quando Berlinguer mostra le immagini della torta di compleanno del ministro israeliano Itamar Ben Gvir con su disegnato un cappio, in riferimento alla legge sulla pena di morte per chi "attenta all'esistenza dello Stato d'Israele", ossia i "terroristi palestinesi". Dopo l'attacco antisemita avvenuto mercoledì 29 aprile a Londra, dove due cittadini ebrei sono stati presi a coltellate da un uomo poi inquadrato come membro di un'organizzazione che fa capo all'Iran, il premier britannico Keir Starmer ha dichiarato alla Bbc la possibilità di vietare alcune marce pro-Palestina qualora portatrici di slogan che incitano alla Intifada. L'inquilino di Downing Street, fischiato una volta sopraggiunto nel quartiere Golders Green dove è avvenuto il fatto, ha detto di essere entrati "in una fase completamente nuova". La comunità ebraica gli rimprovera di non aver garantito abbastanza la sicurezza, sottolineando l'impunità delle violenze e minacce spesso scandite nelle manifestazioni pro-pal.
Per questo Starmer ha espresso il suo sostegno a una regolamentazione più severa degli slogan, aggiungendo la possibilità di disporre dei divieti qualora necessario. "Sono un convinto sostenitore della libertà di espressione e della protesta pacifica - ha detto - Ma quando si sentono slogan come 'Globalizzare l'Intifada', è assolutamente inaccettabile e bisogna agire con maggiore decisione". Si valuta quindi di valutare "poteri aggiuntivi" per il Governo, mentre all'interno del paese è alta la "minaccia islamista e di estrema destra". Dura critica anche da parte dello Stato di Israele, che scrive: "Dopo gli attacchi a sinagoghe, istituzioni ebraiche, ambulanze della comunità e ora contro ebrei presi di mira a Golders Green il governo britannico non può più sostenere la situazione sia sotto controllo".

Un gruppo legato all'Iran e già alle cronache per gli incendi di ambulanze appartenenti a un'associazione ebraica nella città. Da tempo i servizi segreti britannici avvertono sulle infiltrazioni della Repubblica islamica iraniana nel paese, sia a livello politico che di operazioni orientate a colpire gli ebrei.

E a Gerusalemme il ministro della Sicurezza Nazionale Itamar Ben Gvir ha pregato sul Monte del Tempio, sfidando le autorità arabe che amministrano il luogo di culto. “Oggi mi sento il padrone di casa“, ha dichiarato in un video, aggiungendo “continuo a sollecitare il primo ministro a fare sempre di più. Dobbiamo andare ancora oltre, sempre più in alto”. Lo scrive il Times of Israel. In base a un accordo consolidato, gli ebrei possono visitare il complesso, ma non pregarvi, poiché è amministrato dal Waqf giordano, un ente religioso musulmano. Ben Gvir rivendica da tempo il diritto di preghiera per gli ebrei sul sito e sue precedenti visite hanno suscitato aspre condanne nel mondo arabo.
A fine marzo Ben Gvir aveva festeggiato con brindisi e abbracci l’introduzione della pena di morte per i detenuti palestinesi nell’ordinamento israeliano. Le legge, criticata da tutte le principali organizzazioni per i diritti umani, è passata con con 62 voti a favore e 48 contrari. “Abbiamo fatto la storia. Lo avevamo promesso e lo abbiamo mantenuto. La legge sulla pena di morte per i terroristi è entrata a far parte dell’ordinamento giuridico dello Stato di Israele”, aveva scritto il ministro in veste di principale promotore del provvedimento. Già a novembre, dopo l’approvazione della legge in prima lettura, il ministro aveva offerto dolcetti a tutti i presenti.
La legge stabilisce che la pena di morte – mediante impiccagione – diventi la punizione per i palestinesi della Cisgiordania condannati per omicidi a sfondo nazionalistico. La legge conferisce inoltre ai tribunali israeliani l’autorità di infliggere sia la pena di morte, sia l’ergastolo anche ai cittadini israeliani.
