Il Tempo: Portaerei George Bush arrivata in Medio Oriente
La portaerei americana Uss George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) è entrata nell'area di responsabilità del Comando Centrale degli Stati Uniti (Centcom) nel Medio Oriente, accompagnata da tre cacciatorpediniere classe Arleigh Burke e da una nave di supporto logistico, nell'ambito di un gruppo d'attacco navale. Nel dispositivo sono inclusi i cacciatorpediniere USS Ross (DDG-71), USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) e USS Mason (DDG-87), oltre alla nave di supporto rapido USNS Arctic (T-AOE-8).
Intanto la Marina statunitense ha attualmente 19 navi in Medio Oriente tra cui 2 portaerei e 7 navi nell'Oceano Indiano, ha dichiarato un funzionario statunitense. Il 13 aprile le forze armate statunitensi hanno iniziato ad applicare un blocco navale ai porti iraniani, impiegando gran parte di queste risorse e, fino a oggi, hanno già deviato il traffico di almeno 33 navi. Le forze statunitensi hanno inoltre abbordato almeno tre navi, di cui due nell'Oceano Indiano, a circa 2.000 miglia dal Golfo Persico. L'abbordaggio più recente è avvenuto nella notte, quando le forze statunitensi hanno abbordato una "nave apolide soggetta a sanzioni" che trasportava petrolio dall'Iran nell'Oceano Indiano, come annunciato dal Dipartimento della Difesa. Le due portaerei attualmente presenti nella zona sono la USS Abraham Lincoln e la USS Gerald R.Ford.

The U.S. aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) has entered the area of responsibility of the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) in the Middle East, accompanied by three Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and a logistics support ship, as part of a naval attack group. The group includes the destroyers USS Ross (DDG-71), USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) and USS Mason (DDG-87), along with the fast combat support ship USNS Arctic (T-AOE-8).
Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy currently has 19 ships in the Middle East, including two aircraft carriers and seven ships in the Indian Ocean, a U.S. official said. On April 13, U.S. forces began implementing a naval blockade of Iranian ports, deploying a significant portion of these assets and, to date, have diverted the traffic of at least 33 ships. U.S. forces have also seized at least three ships, two in the Indian Ocean, approximately 2,000 miles from the Persian Gulf. The latest boarding occurred overnight when U.S. forces seized a “sank-compliant vessel subject to sanctions” transporting oil from Iran into the Indian Ocean, as announced by the Department of Defense. The two aircraft carriers currently in the area are the USS Abraham Lincoln and the USS Gerald R. Ford.
