AGI - Donald Trump ha dichiarato in un'intervista esclusiva al Telegraph di stare seriamente valutando la possibilità di ritirare gli Stati Uniti dalla Nato, dopo che quest'ultima si è rifiutata di unirsi alla sua guerra contro l'Iran.
Trump: "La Nato è una tigre di carta"
Il presidente degli Stati Uniti ha definito l'alleanza una "tigre di carta", affermando che l'uscita dell'America dal trattato di difesa è ormai "irrevocabile". Trump, poi, critica aspramente la Gran Bretagna e il premier Keir Starmer nell'intervista al Telegraph, rimproverando Starmer per essersi rifiutato di intervenire nella guerra israelo-americana contro l'Iran e suggerendo che la Royal Navy non fosse all'altezza del compito. "Non avete nemmeno una marina. Siete troppo vecchi e avevate portaerei che non funzionavano", ha detto, riferendosi allo stato della flotta di navi da guerra britanniche.
Interrogato sulla possibilità che il primo ministro debba spendere di più per la difesa, Trump ha aggiunto: "Non ho intenzione di dirgli cosa fare. Può fare quello che vuole. Non importa. Tutto ciò che Starmer vuole sono costose pale eoliche che stanno facendo schizzare alle stelle i prezzi dell'energia".
