BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) —
#US District #Judge Dana Christensen dismissed a #lawsuit from young #climate activists seeking to block Trump’s orders promoting fossil fuels and discouraging renewable energy.
She said the #plaintiffs showed overwhelming #evidence climate change affects them and that it will worsen as a result of Trump’s orders, but that their request was “unworkable” because it was beyond the #power of the #judiciary to create environmental #policies

#SanFrancisco Superior Court #Judge rejects #Cupertino based #AppleComputer #legal efforts to stifle female #employee #lawsuit over alleged illegal #SexDiscrimination.

A female employee discovered a male colleague’s #TaxReturn form that showed him making $10k more for performing the same job title, a violation of California's landmark #EqualPayAct . Another #litigant hired a third party firm to investigate her #WageClaims and proved she was receiving less pay than male colleagues, and when Apple agreed to her raise, refused her any #BackPay for the years during which she was consistently paid less than men performing similar work.

The court found #Plaintiffs had sufficiently alleged that Apple’s #salary decisions were made in a centralized location pursuant to a #chauvinistic #employment compensation scheme that clearly perpetuates pay disparities due to #GenderBias.

The lawsuit could receive #ClassAction status as there are more than 12,000 female #APPL employees in #California potentially impacted by secret pact under ultimate leadership of #TimCook and cabal of other misogynistic policy enforcing execs.

#Plaintiff #legalteam include lawyers from three firms: Altshuler Berzon LLP, Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, and Outten & Golden LLP.

A #Venezuelan govt controlled bank in #Miami was embattled in a #shareholder court case with #political implications that challenged directors of the #banking empire connected to the #Maduro regime. A #jury found on June 27 that two directors breached their fiduciary duty of care to the bank and hit them with a fine, but a fraction of the $27 million sought by #litigants. “The jury only awarded damages amounting to less than 3% of what the plaintiffs were seeking—$800,000, instead of the $27 million requested at trial. That’s essentially a slap on the wrist from the jury,” said defense #counsel Evan Stroman, a partner at #DiazReus.

“Any day where you help prevent an illegal authoritarian regime in #Venezuela from penetrating the United States banking system and hold those accountable for assisting that regime is a good day,” Derek E. León, the #plaintiffs' attorney, said.
