In the old city, or Casco Viejo, bills addressing the #genocide are pasted on the facades between shop windows; "Boikota #Israel" (#BoycottIsrael) are widely sprayed on the walls of apartment blocks.

On the balconies of the colourful apartments overlooking the Nervion River, #Palestinian flags are draped from every second or third apartment.

Every flag that flutters in the wet breeze announces itself as proof of life.

The level of pro-#Palestine solidarity is unlike any other city I have visited in the western world over the course of the genocide.

During the trial, the prosecution alleged that the six defendants entered the factory with sledgehammers, intending, if needed, to injure and incapacitate security guards.

But the defendants disputed that the sledgehammers were “weapons of offence”, and insisted they were intended only to damage property.

As the verdicts were being read, the defendants held hands and embraced in the dock, as families and supporters cheered and wept.

The six defendants have been held for around 18 months on remand- exceeding standard #UK custodial time limits.

#Israel says it has found the body of the last Israeli captive left in #Gaza, amid local reports of heavy shelling and bulldozing during the search.

The Israeli army carried out extensive bulldozing operations in the area of al-Sanafour and around the al-Batsh cemetery, located east of Gaza City.

Several graves were desecrated during the search for Gvili, who was found east of Gaza City.

... #Hamas responded on Monday, saying it "exerted significant efforts in the search for the body of the last prisoner" and that it had provided Israel with “all the details and information in our posession regarding the location of the prisoner's remains”.

But the YPG’s inevitable clash with the state came this month, as the Syrian army, supported by allied Arab tribes, advanced quickly. The #YPG’s rapid collapse was expected by those familiar with its history: the group, operating under a #Kurdish banner, was never a genuine grassroots force. It lacked popular support even among most #Kurds and was completely dependent on foreign [...] backing.

Throughout the Syrian conflict, the group shifted its loyalty from the Assad regime to Iran, then Russia, then the #US and the EU, and finally #Israel. At no point since 2011 could it have held its ground against its opponents without massive funding, weapons and air support from the US and others.
