I got a new #CD (17-track two-CD set) today. Album released in October 2025 to some formats but the CDs only came out this month. I pre-ordered in November so I've been waiting awhile.
Album is Syndicate by The Midnight.

I use #Asunder to rip CDs to #FLAC files on my PC, and I listen immediately after ripping to make sure the files are good. I generate sha256 hashes to keep with the flacs.

I've been playing on repeat. I love it.

After ripping a new #CD the other day to #FLAC, I decided to rip some of my older #CDs as .flac, particularly some I've had since the '90s and early 2000s.

These albums have seen a lot of use, so I I need to listen closely to be sure there aren't errors due to scratches. Sometimes I hear odd little sounds that I don't recall, so I'm comparing them to my 192kbps mp3s (ripped circa 2006) and YouTube to determine if the sounds I"m hearing are part of the recording.

Asunder is a fantastic CD ripper. The UI is no-nonsense: just what you need, no more. It has managed to rip all my 100+ CDs, regardless of their quality (and many of these have come from charity shops), and every disc was recognised, including all the kerrang tie-in CDs. I whole-heartedly recommend.

There's an awful lot being cut out of the MP3, and maybe you can hear it and maybe you can't. On this track, it probably doesn't make a difference. But it's a stark visual.

Yesterday was a great day spent at home with:
a) #Podcrawl as from 13:00 to evening.
b) As Tooted with photos I started Spring Cleaning my computer room.
c) Ripped a lot of CDs to FLAC format with #Asunder - http://littlesvr.ca/asunder/

In the evening I did not feel well, especially my stomach.
Once Arianna came away from her #ESO playing I informed her, and she mentioned that she felt the same. Therefore must be something we either picked up or ate together.
Slept well, but still not feeling the best today. Therefore I am going to stay home today and join CenterPointe Christian Church online at 11:00. https://mycpointe.com/

Plans today are:
1) Staying home and resting up.
2) Continue organising my computer room.
3) Run a few loads of laundry.
4) Work on a Bible chapter for #MissionAssist, to complete my allocation, to send to my Team Leader.

There is an event that I have been invited to this afternoon, along with Arianna, but I really will have to see how I am feeling.

Now going to put the kettle on and make myself a mug of Ginger Peach Black Tea.

Anyone else finding Asunder is just sitting there, flashing the drive light occasionally? It did the CDDB lookup ok. I've tried an update and upgrade...

Hang on... it's fine with other CDs. "Fragile" by Yes rips fine on Mrs Walrus's Apple, but not on here, so I suspect some kind of copy protection shit is happening.
