I have just released my debut solo album, "Tools and Toys", part of an electronic/synthpop project (Transits of Mars) that I've been developing in recent years.

Available to stream and download on Bandcamp.

Produced with free and open-source music production tools in #Linux, mainly #lmms and #ardour.

Hope you like it. More on the way in the new year.

20251030 - Purge Kernel

iusse image generic 6.14.0-34.34~24.04.01

Avevo questo problema dato da apt e discover, degli errori che puntavano a quella "cosa" li, io sono solo un chitarrista, mi si perdoni. Ho risolto purgando il sistema, e questo pezzettino l'ho registrato con Ardour subito dopo.

@celesteh I don’t know about plugData, but generally you can have a plugin that reads mono signal and outputs a stereo signal, so a panning plugin should be entirely doable. Have you looked into #Lua scripting in #Ardour? You can program both macros and #DSP in Lua in Ardour.

Ok, so I have a panning algorithm I could port to #plugData. It was one audio inlets and one data inlet (the pan knob) and two audio outlets.

I want to use this with #ardour, so ideally, it would replace the built-in panning on the tracks that used it.

Is this complicated?

(Is there a more modular DAW I could use? I just want to scoot audio regions back and forth in a multi track system and automate faders and plugins and be able to bounce to disk.)

#linux

I want to move a region in #Ardour to the left by a few seconds, to start it earlier. I have drawn some automation points and I want them to come too.

Annoyingly this isn't the default. How do I tell it that actually, changing the amplitude has something to do with the content of the track? (What a fucking concept.)

Edit: it does move, it just takes a moment to draw the move, so it looks broken but isn't. 🙃

@spiezmaestro Depending on how into #linux #audio / #AudioProduction he may be interested in, #Ardour is a #DAW that is also popular.

Before the weekend I stumbled upon a toot from @illegalhex: https://hachyderm.io/@illegalhex/115425002242151795

Read it, read it again and read it another time. Then I looked up Green Eggs and Ham from Dr. Seuss (TIL!) which made me appreciate this poem even more.

Grabbed my guitar and almost instantly inspiration popped up. So I spend this weekend recording and mixing the rendition of this poem to a short song.

Recorded and mixed with #Ardour. All #FOSS plugins. And thanks illegalhex for the inspiration!!!

#linuxaudio

@the_etrain @swampgas I had a similar obstacle. I learned an alternative cross-platform package first, then switched fully to Linux.

Different audio field from me (Club DJ) but from my understanding Ardour is a route you could try.
