Caravan holidays have their own rhythm - a mix of sea air, sandy shoes and plates that tell the story of the day. Last week’s table was a little bit of everything: hearty breakfasts to set us up for adventures, quick picnic-style spreads between beach walks and those cosy, end-of-day dinners that are little comfort blankets! We had protein-packed starts with eggs, bacon, fruit and fresh juice; delicious sweet pancakes, colourful plates of fajitas & pasta; chicken and veg loaded with gravy; and snack boards that balance fresh veg and hummus with the comfort of crisps, biscuits & chocolate. There was plenty of 'holiday fuel' too - donuts dusted in sugar, carrot cake and a stash of sweets for movie nights in the caravan. It’s not about perfect eating, it’s about shared moments - kids tucking into their favourites, adults getting a bit of everything and the joy of having it all on one table. Healthy, indulgent, familiar, new… Every plate a little postcard from our week away. There's so many easy ideas you can do - from cooking in the caravan to batch cooking up some easy healthy meals beforehand so you don't need to worry as much: Breakfasts - Pre-made pancakes with yoghurt and fruit (we had pistachio cream!) - Yogurt pots with granola & a drizzle of honey - Toasted crumpets with butter and jam (or peanut butter + banana slices) - Bacon and eggs butty with beans - Smoothie pouches - Cereal and milk Lunches - Wrap station: ham, cheese, cucumber, hummus, grated carrot -let the kids build their own - Jacket potato (any topping) - Mini ploughman’s: cheese cubes, apple slices, crackers, ham, tomatoes - Tuna mayo rolls with lettuce and crisps on the side - Leftover remix: use last night’s chilli or hot dog buns or salad bits Teas (Dinners) - Sausage traybake: sausages, chopped, onion - roast all together - DIY burgers: grill burgers, serve in buns with cucumber coins and ketchup - Beans on toast with grated cheese - Pre-made spag bol (pasta traybake) - Pre-made (at home) fajita mix just use wraps & cheese - My kids fave is cheese stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon with tinned veg, potato & gravy!"
