#Transport for #Wales (TfW) has become a Principal Member of the #Urban Transport Group (UTG), joining the UK’s network of transport authorities at its highest membership level. TfW, wholly owned by the Welsh Government, delivers multi-modal transport across Wales and the Borders. The organisation is investing over £1 billion in the South Wales Metro, including electrifying 170km of track and introducing electric trains, alongside a pay-as-you-go ticketing system used on 1.8 million journeys. TfW also launched Network North Wales in May 2025 and has invested £800 million in new trains across the network. CEO James Price highlighted collaboration and learning from other regions, while UTG Director Jason Prince welcomed TfW’s growing role in shaping #UK transport.
