Suggestions on free time activities for people with autism - Autied.com

Autistic individuals often face challenges in daily life but can benefit from engaging activities tailored to their needs. Activities promoting sensory regulation, creativity, physical fitness, and social interaction can enhance personal growth and well-being. Implementing structured routines focused on skill development fosters independence and improves overall quality of life.

Would anyone be interested if I ever made a Substack account for my writing? It'd be for shits and giggles basically, I don't wanna feel obligated to write articles all the time. I'd probably write about politics and possibly esotericism. All of my articles would be free unless I get good traction on there.

For more background into my politics, I'm an independent from the US with a slight left lean. I'm also a bi AuDHD woman, so I'm able to bring a healthy dose of diversity into what I do! I think universal healthcare, inflation and privacy are the biggest issues in the US currently. That said, I'm also very passionate about neurodivergent advocacy and acceptance. I think neurodivergence is the biggest DEI issue that few talk about.

I’ve been questioned about my autism diagnosis online more times than I can count, and I’ve only had it for about six months. (Autism, of course, is lifelong.)

Watch this video I made in December 2023, then tell me the person who got completely derailed by a random noise for an hour—while trying to learn how to make glass bottles into drinking glasses—isn’t autistic.

For the change of seasons, I used to do all relevant #spellwork, #cleansing, decor, card pulls, and other seasonal #rituals in one day during the Solstices or Equinoxes. I've realized that's not really the move given my #AuDHD brain lol. So lately I'm slowly doing some cool tasks leading up to the #Fall #Equinox.

This is also my first change of season since deciding to do semi-regular screen breaks/dopamine detoxes, and I'm looking forward to it! I took my first ever intentional detox back in July, and holy shit, I felt so calm during it. Going forward, I'm planning on doing them for 5-7 days during Solstices and Equinoxes, so my first seasonal detox is coming up this Monday. I get overstimulated easily, so I'm hoping that disconnecting from so much stimuli semi-regularly is enough to keep me regulated. I'm thinking about adding a short 2-3 day social media break mid-way through seasons too if I need it.

Living with ADHD: Between Stereotypes and Neurobiological Reality

Over the past months, I’ve been sharing observations about ADHD in the fediverse. Raw, unfiltered posts about the daily reality of living with this neurological condition. These posts have resonated with many people, but they’ve also prompted requests for sources, elaboration, and deeper analysis of the phenomena I’ve described.

What follows is an attempt to bridge the gap between lived experience and scientific evidence, between personal observation and structural analysis.

«[…] something else that hit me in the gut: “It really is easier just to not talk openly and hide in plain sight.” I’ve done that. Still do, sometimes. Not correcting people. Letting the mis gendering slide. Choosing not to mention it in certain rooms.

And that quiet omission, it accumulates. Not because I’m ashamed, but because the calculus of safety and ease still runs in the background. And the silence is its own kind of grief. […]»

Building a better welcome: Reflections on inclusivity in WordPress

After attending a talk on LGBTQIA+ inclusivity at WordCamp Europe, I reflect on my own experience as a non-binary person in the WordPress community. This piece explores the difference between being included and being seen, and why real inclusivity is a practice, messy, human, and deeply worth it.

Good evening, peoples.
Here's my latest blog post on substack. Give it a read if you fancy a quick, tongue in cheek take on my rather chaotic approach to my work, and I guess, life in general.
