Pot of the day - Early Bronze Age Chinese cooking pot. Excavated in the modern day Gansu Province - possibly either Qijia or Xindian culture (approx 1700-1250 BCE).

The tripod design meant it could be sat directly in the fire during cooking. This particular example has a rather interesting decoration - I will leave the interpretation up to your own imaginations 🤣

These couple of pieces are made from the wild clay I processed a few weeks ago. The white terra sigillata has a wonderful metalic sheen and looks great against the rough textured surface. So in love with how these turned out! What do you think?
