This is more a reminder to myself when I get down or maybe to someone who feels stuck right now. ME can make you feel like there is no future, and I've definitely felt that way at times, so I'm writing down things I can do now that I couldn't do a year ago.
1. Water my veggie garden fairly regularly
2. Sit upright for most of the day
3. Take my cat for a slow little wander around our neighbourhood on a good day.
4. Build a little bamboo trellis for my peas.
5. Make plans to see friends with about a 65% chance of not having to cancel.
These are huge gains for me. I still struggle with heavy brain fog and I need to rest a lot. PEM can sneak up on me quick when I get a little too overly enthusiastic about what I can accomplish, but I am definitely making some progress. I have a cane now. It helps a lot, particularly when my POTS is giving me balance issues. I let go of my fear of mobility aids this year too. It's worth doing. If something will make your life easier, embrace it.
