1) Not a lot of cars have #V2X (when we were looking for our eventual #EV, only one of the three we considered had any V2X and the one we got definitely didn't)

2) The expense of installing a one-way charger is already bad enough; two-way chargers, by themselves, are generally more-expensive than one-way chargers and the electrical work to enable two-way is even more punishingly-expensive.

Ein ganz normaler Abend: Mit GNSS-Antenne auf der Schulter und Laptop in der Hand an der Kreuzung stehen und #cits/ #v2x-Daten anschauen.
Aber: Die Signalphasen-Anzeige auf dem ESP funktioniert prinzipiell. (Weil es für's Fahrrad gedacht ist, wird der Linksabbieger nicht angezeigt und die Geradeaus-Spur ist hier eigentlich auch ein false-positive, weil der Radweg an der Ampel vorbei geht.)

They even contain intersection geometry data, that's so neat!

(I've manually pushed a few MAPEM packets to opentrafficmap, so it gets rendered, so no live data for now)

We'll probably build some receivers after #GPN24 to have proper live data in https://opentrafficmap.org

Wohoo, received some C-ITS data in Heilbronn \o/

I just wanted to see if there are any packets here, so I modified the code from https://codeberg.org/opentrafficmap/its-g5-receiver-firmware to dump the packets via serial. (Didn't have an Ethernet module at hand)

I didn't really expect the traffic lights to be equipped with it here, but apparently it's getting rolled out everywhere.

But ofc, now I just couldn't resist importing the packets into Wireshark and taking a look at them :P

Gerade eine DENM (Decentralized Environmental Notification Message) "Warnung anderer vor Gefahrenstellen" an einer relativ ruhigen Ecke per #V2X empfangen. Frage mich nun, wer in welchen Umständen so eine Message senden darf? Da steht halt einfach nur ein parkendes Auto, um das man herum fahren muss...

Es gibt jetzt auch #CYD (cheap yellow display) mit #ESP32-C5. Damit lässt sich dann ein stand-alone Touch-Device für 25EUR zum Loggen von #V2X Daten basteln
