Disappointed to learn that Volkswagen’s #V2G tariff in Germany does not offer users dynamic pricing – as in its current smart charging tariff – but instead hides the benefit within a payment for time spent plugged in

Australian #V2G pilot with Amber will grow from 50 to 1,000 participants, initially with BYD EVs but the scheme may expand to other car brands. BYD provides full warranty for bidirectional charging as part of the project.

ARENA expands Amber project to accelerate vehicle-to-grid rollout in Australia

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) is boosting its support for Amber Electric to help take vehicle‑to‑grid (V2G) technology to the next stage in Australia. ARENA is providing an additional $13.6 million in funding to expand Amber’s EV charging project, bringing total funding to $16...

Vattenfall is launching a #V2G trial in the Netherlands in partnership with Kia and Hyundai. 2 x 40 participants, with a Kia EV9 or Hyundai IONIQ 9, will receive a AC bidirectional charging point and a reimbursement of up to €500 for electricity costs during the six-month trial.

Polestar and Clever are starting a #v2g pilot project in Denmark.

This trial involves the use of a DC bidirectional charger, and one of the features is the ability to provide backup power to the home from the vehicle.

I’m curious to see how that backup power function will be implemented. In the photo, I can see an Ambibox DC charger, which is also used in other projects (including Ford and Octopus in Germany, and VW in Sweden).

Got nerdsniped by a quote for a home battery installation. The payback would be 10 years, as I have to pay 20% VAT since I'm not installing solar panels at the same time (which would be 0%)

It makes much more sense to upgrade my charger to a V2G model, and use my electric car as a rolling battery. Not so simple though as you need a perfect combo of charger-car-energyCo, and the integration for my car doesn't currently exist. Best to leave it and wait. #battery #electric #v2g

Enphase is preparing to launch its DC bidirectional charger (initially in the US, but works elsewhere too) for #V2G and V2H. It’s interesting to see how they’re focusing on interoperability: any car, any home, any grid
