Lemmy Browser Frontends for App or Old -Reddit Style Experience
I get the sense a few more users have joined Lemmy/Piefed from Reddit because of something that happened over there. I’ll just put out a quick PSA that in addition to a multitude of mobile applications to use Lemmy and Piefed (see this megathread [https://lemmy.world/post/13129663]) there are web applications that change the UI to give you a more familiar experience. Most exist on a per-site basis so you’ll have to see if the instance your account is on installed them (or you can browse as a guest). Check the instance sidebar or ask your local admin. Here are a few notable examples: - Alexandrite a.lemmy.world, alex.lemmy.ca [http://alex.lemmy.ca] etc. Clean, full image previews when scrolling. - mlmym (Old Desktop Reddit style) old.lemmy.world, old.lemmy.ca [http://old.lemmy.ca] etc. - Photon p.lemmy.world, photon.lemmy.ca [http://photon.lemmy.ca], well laid out for mobile use but works well on desktop - Blorp blorp.lemmy.world, blorp.lemmy.ca [http://blorp.lemmy.ca] etc. more optimized for mobile - Voyager and tessaract and more. Each are maintained by 3rd party mostly volunteer developers, so be aware, in case of breaking changes to Lemmy that might affect how well these frontends work.

This is a subreddit for those who love, or are even curious about, opera and its singers from the 1950's and earlier. Blind and Fine
If you want to join apositive subreddit for the blind, try r/BlindandFine. The subject matter is far less strict than at r/blind, since not everything needs to be related to blindness. This is more of a place where we can get to know each other and have fun. We allow sighted people to join as well, and we welcome questions about blindness if they are genuine, requests for feedback on surveys or technology about/for the blind, etc. However, I do ask that you join only if you are eighteen or older. Please also note that this is not a therapy/support group. If you need that, then r/blind is for you. I am not an administrator there, only of Blind and Fine.

A VHA-wide memo was sent this afternoon reiterating the administration’s expectation for VHA to eliminate all DEI programs, including LGBTQ+ resources available to Veterans. Recent email at IRS indicates that after July 25th almost all compressed work schedules will be halted.
They couldn’t pull this off last year cause the union pulled a big enough stink if I recall. But now? Great, my already 300% increased commute costs due to telework ending get multiplied by 25% again!
