If #Microsoft made it in #2007, Everett becomes a bridge OS between Vista and #Windows7.
It will be The missing link between Vista’s architecture and Windows 7’s UX direction.

It would be:
- Built on the Vista kernel (NT 6.0)
- Featuring early versions of Windows 7 UI concepts
- Introducing proto‑features that later matured in Windows 10

This makes Everett a legitimate evolutionary step that would lead to Windows 10 earlier.

You should not daily drive Windows 7.

But if you were going to install Windows 7 for some retro gaming, you would want to use Supermium web browser and use Legacy Update Dot Net to replace Microsoft Update.

If you re-run the Windows Experience Index on an AMD CPU, Windows will run extra background tasks during the test. For example, it may check Microsoft Security and continue running Windows Update.

Run the same test on an Intel system, and the OS goes quiet and dedicates itself almost entirely to the benchmark.
