Funding the Phosh Contributors Meeting 2026

We’re planning our first Phosh Contributors Meeting in 2026. We have plenty of interesting topics to work on, a location (the Linux Hotel) and a date option in May ‘26. Since we can’t cover such events from our association’s running budget yet we need to raise additional 2500 Euro to cover the costs for accommodation, food, conference room and (partially) travel costs for up to 15 people. How good is the PineTab2? I've been reading up a little on the Pine64 forums. I have had a PinePhone for a few years now so I have some experience with Pine64 devices.

From what I can gather, for the default OS there have been issues with Bluetooth and Wifi. How stable/usable is the default OS?

I am interested in using mobian/Phosh on the device as that is what I am most familiar with.

Are there any particular gotchas with mobian on the PineTab2?

We've just tagged and relesed phoc 0.55~alpha1 🥳. This is basically 0.54.0 but using the recently released #wlroots 0.20.0 instead of 0.19.3. Please give it a try!

I have a couple of Android devices running vanilla Android UIs.

I hardly ever use them.

On the other hand I use mobian/Phosh on my PinePhones every day.

On the odd occasions I have to use an Android device I now find myself trying to navigate the Android UI in the same way as Phosh.

So when the Android device does not respond correctly to a Phosh UI action it only increases the frustration I feel when using Android.

Soon I will be free of Android.

#Linux auf dem #Mobiltelefon: Ich habe bei mir im Kalender stehen, dass ich am 21.04. ab 19:30 Uhr gemütlich mit Linuxmobiltelefonen im Strandhaus #Göttingen/#Weende sitze und mal schaue, ob andere Menschen Lust haben sich zu dem Thema auszutauschen und die Telefone auszuprobieren. Interesse? 🙃
