Note, that not everybody has #RCS. I don't have it. I'm not even sure, if it is implemented in #Linux (e.g. #Debian or #Mobian). Maybe @mobian knows about it?

For now, I have to stay with #Jabber and everything, I have an #XMPP gateway for (IRC, SMS, Matrix). Until #slidge has RCS support at least 🙂

@jbowen 1/n It depends on how you interpret "functional", "stable" and "boring". And what you expect from a phone.

I settled with mobian/phosh on my PinePhone and PinePhone Pro. I am used to debian which makes some things easier. phosh seems simpler to me than Plasma Mobile and less flashy.

I have uninstalled the "phone" apps like Geary and installed normal desktop apps (like ClawsMail, Vivaldi, LibreOffice, Thunar) and have the XFCE desktop also installed alonside phosh.

Only Airtel works well in some cities, with Vi, you can only send money by phone number, so no scan and pay. If many Vi users port to Airtel and tell them broken *99# as reason, they might fix it.

One way to support #FreeSoftware. Because UPI apps are one common reason people stick with #android or #ios. Working UPI would bring #mobian / #postmarketOS closer to mainstream.

If you dont have a specific reason to stick with Vi, I recommend you do it.
