Weekly GNU-like Mobile Linux Update (17/2026): Slow Seventeen

A quieter week in GNU-like mobile Linux land: Ubuntu Touch 24.04 1.3 call for testing, Jolla open-sources the Sailfish OS Mastodon account integration, Kumo 1.7.0 lands with Servo (in addition to WebKit), FuriOS receives a noteworthy update, and more!

Phosh on pmOS on my Fairphone 6 after display, GPU and mobile data updates.

Are there any smartwatches comparable to the Apple Watches out there (heart rate, physical exercise kilojoules counting, waterproof, cool watch faces, gay watchbands, plus maybe those heart illnesses detecting stuff, maybe blood oxygen and ecg too and maybe depth sensors for diving like the ultras if it’s not too much to ask) that either work independently from phones (no app needed) or at least work with an app that can be easily installed in any android device (more specifically that can work in an ungoogled Waydroid container on postmarketOS)?

I keep wondering what I’ll use instead of my Apple Watch if I move to a postmarketOS phone…

Any #postmarketos people around?

Latest update PostmarketOS Edge lead to Pinephone Beta internal error.

Loading Failure.

Will likely need a reinstall.

Porting the OpenHarmony UI and other stuff to run on top of postmarketOS could be interesting.

@zwarf I am happy with #PureMaps on the #Librem5 on #PostmarketOS.

A postmarketOS question: in postmarketOS edge there are lots of packages that can be listed with "apk list". For some of them, info about how the package was built and who maintains it can be found at https://pkgs.postmarketos.org/packages but many packages are not found there. Where can one find information about such packages? One example I'm interested in is the "signal-cli" package for which there is now some dependency problem, something for package maintainers.
