After a long discussion with @aelin today I got thinking about how much I've seen many of the TCs (and myself!) in #postmarketOS change, improve, and develop (both humanly and technically) through the last 3 years since we started expanding the maintainer base. It is incredibly fulfilling to see people making mistakes and learning and improving. We all mess up, we all have our incompatibilities, but it just feels good to be part of this team

Reading a bit on #PostmarketOS, #PlasmaMobile, #Halium etc.

There are lots of pieces in that puzzle, and I'm not likely to spring for the PinePhone hardware. But PlasmaM may be a viable option for a side project – I could pick away at it to vent frustrations with Android. I even see one of my old phones mentioned - the MotoG6 on which some have had some porting success.

(GrapheneOS sounds nice, but it's all Google Pixel hardware :frownyFace )

I was able to make my Pixel 3a Linux Phone with postmarketOS GNOME look like my first iPhone.

Ich habe es geschafft mein Linux-Handy mit postmarketOS GNOME so aussehen zu lassen, wie mein allererstes iPhone.

Thanks to the help of @krafting who is making all this possible!

This is crazy. I was able to pick up a 7 year old stale, un-merged MR for pmaports and get it to the point where I can get a SSH shell on this nearly decade old phone. Sony Xperia X Compact, probably my favorite phone I ever owned. If somebody has an x86_64 Chromebook and wants to see it still supported in postmarketOS, please consider becoming a maintainer by commenting on https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/merge_requests/8743

Otherwise, the device will be archived and prebuilt images will stop being built. (Existing installs will still work, but device-specific fixes will not happen anymore)
