iGTK - Linux Phone
Ein modernes Linux-Phone im vertrauten Design der ersten iPhones? Mithilfe von iGTK ist es möglich ein postmarkesOS Gerät mit der GNOME Oberfläche in ein Retro-Handy zu verwandeln.
Reading a bit on #PostmarketOS, #PlasmaMobile, #Halium etc.
There are lots of pieces in that puzzle, and I'm not likely to spring for the PinePhone hardware. But PlasmaM may be a viable option for a side project – I could pick away at it to vent frustrations with Android. I even see one of my old phones mentioned - the MotoG6 on which some have had some porting success.
(GrapheneOS sounds nice, but it's all Google Pixel hardware :frownyFace )
I was able to make my Pixel 3a Linux Phone with postmarketOS GNOME look like my first iPhone.
Ich habe es geschafft mein Linux-Handy mit postmarketOS GNOME so aussehen zu lassen, wie mein allererstes iPhone.
Thanks to the help of @krafting who is making all this possible!
Edit: Found a maintainer! If you also want to become one to prevent this from happening again, you are still free to comment!
If somebody has an x86_64 Chromebook and wants to see it still supported in postmarketOS, please consider becoming a maintainer by commenting on https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/merge_requests/8743
Otherwise, the device will be archived and prebuilt images will stop being built. (Existing installs will still work, but device-specific fixes will not happen anymore)
Just an extra screenshot with more App icons for you nerds! :D
Tooted from my pmOS device running this theme btw!
I love the subscribe to tags feature in gitlab, and having team mates that properly tag MRs and issues. I come back from a week off and my email is mostly filled with *on-topic* emails I likely want to look at.Thanks everybody for that.
We are considering dropping armhf (specifically armv6, not armv7) from postmarketOS edge, since we barely have any devices that make use of this architecture among other reasons. Please read the full issue for details.
If this impacts you, let us know!
