@usia @ancientsounds @cfo I also have #fairphone 4. I experimented with #ubuntutouch #postmarketos and #sailfishos . I liked the #postmarketos the most, but calling/audio, camera and battery level is not working. So not handy for use irl. I hope the support of these functions will come, but I doubt.

@jolla Will the new Jolla Phone include "double tap to wake", LPM and " sneak peak"?

I really appreciated these features on the Jolla 1 and am already pleased that sneak peek works on the Xperia 10 III.
It would be really great if these features came back.

@globcoco Threema 🙋 It's what I established in the family a long time ago. It's good, especially with the new standalone desktop app they have now, previously a permanent connection to the phone was necessary. It's also on @fdroidorg now, which is nice for degoogled Androids or #SailfishOS. It might be my SailfishOS, but sharing media from other apps to Threema practially never works (have to save and send manually) and it sometimes needs a hard restart on bad internet to send stuff. Otherwise👍

@mathzy I've never had play services or even an alternative like MicroG on my #sailfishos device, since 2013. Turns out I never did "need" the play services. Sure, sometimes it would have been convenient to "just use the app"...

But as long as people work around or capitulate to the play services, without complaining to the ones demanding you to use their shitty app, nothing will change.

I have flirted with the idea of a #Jolla phone - I do like the idea of a Linux mobile.

But there are three apps that I need that don't run at all without Google Play Services (GPS).

In #GrapheneOS, I can sandbox these safely with an account-free, permissions-limited GPS - something you can't do with Jolla's #SailfishOS.

Maybe the #EU needs to view GPS as a monopoly and take steps to make future 3rd party non-Google Android apps function without it.

That would certainly be in Jolla's favour.

@cocoricox y'a des bouts de code propriétaires là dedans. Dont la compatibilité avec les applis android. La boîte derrière dit que ce sera mit en open source, mais ça reste que des mots. Donc perso ça ne m'intéresse pas.
Après l'OS est intéressante. Si tu met les tags #sailfishOS et #jolla y aura plus de monde qui verra. Et ça ramènera probablement aussi des gens qui ne sont pas d'accord avec moi 😆
