Psychotherapy Commission ACPESIP Level 2 begins on 03/20/26 and expands therapists’ capacity to work with clients’ spiritual resources through focused study in Course 2.1, Spiritual Interventions: Working with Spiritual Resources, Part 2. This course presents seven common spiritual interventions, enabling therapists to draw from explicit and implicit practices such as sacred texts, music, nature, meditation, and prayer. Participants learn to ground these interventions in careful spiritual assessment and to apply them ethically in clinical settings.
The curriculum emphasizes tailoring interventions to client needs, strengthening participants’ ability to identify internal and external resources that support resilience, meaning making, and healing. Learning occurs within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that encourages curiosity, reflection, and attention to the whole person.
The instructors bring deep experience. Beth Toler integrates psychotherapy, theology, and spirituality with expertise in trauma informed work and family systems. Her teaching emphasizes compassionate presence and meaning making. Tere Canzoneri draws from psychodynamic theory, systems theory, and mindfulness based approaches, offering learners a reflective and present focused teaching style rooted in decades of clinical practice. Melissa Lemons brings an eclectic, relational therapeutic approach informed by supervision, higher education, pastoral leadership, and clinical experience with diverse populations.
