I have been very aware the last few weeks, that my toes are gripping the ground while walking, down stairs, flat surface, doesnt matter...the toes are grabbing, so pressing the toes forward seem to be strengthening things in a very cool way. The reason I mention this is that in previous training of Tai Chi Ruler, it also adresses the toes in a big way compared to most systems,
Context:Two weeks ago, after practicing Stick in San Ti Shi—cycling "Chamber-Step-Strike" with the cavities and anchor sacrum—I got a surprising release of the ribs of the lower back. I mentioned that after about three days, my back "locked up a bit" and was feeling stiff. After discussing this with Sifu, I went back to basics. I mostly worked on the foot couple and left the

Pranam. In my first post I remarked that Sifu's teachings on Standing have even influenced the way I approach my percussion practice. Last week I found another somewhat unexpected intersection. About 2-3 times per year I have the opportunity to attend regional SWAT training here. I don’t jump out or off of anything, and I don’t rappel down buildings etc. with the young guys.
