⁂ Fish Id Wardrobe@autismsupsoc What's lovely to me about this approach is that with a couple more 'knobs' you could embrace ADHD at the same time. So many of us have some or all of both ASD and AD(H)D.
Our personal view on this topic so that Autism (ASD) and Kinetism (ADHD) are the same spectrum Neurotype, with the knobs of attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.
But we accept that “ADHDers” see ADHD as an identity, and are uncomfortable with the idea of being Autistic. The the possibility exists that there are multiple Neurotypes being DXed as ADHD …
So we don’t push it. We accept that there are “bigger fish to fry” than this topic. It’s not a “Hill to die on.”
@autismsupsoc It's not. If you added those knobs, then you'd not be describing ASD any more, so I personally don't see an issue (but that's just me). You'd be describing neurodiversity as a whole, I suppose. So we'd need a f**kton more knobs…
