Its not the numbers that count, its the #genocide: killing by #starvation, #uprooting , shooting people at random, etc. The #japanese did the same: nobody could escape from the #concentrationcamps . In #europe at least some #jewish victims were helped by local #resistence groups ("terrorists", according to the Nazis) to flee.

@Thumper1964 Odd coincidence: I've been thinking about #uprooting from #Columbus. Whether I do that depends on whether the local transit tax renewal+expansion passes on this November's ballot (Issue 47, funds https://linkuscolumbus.com/) and whether #Amtrak comes to Columbus (3C+D service starts no earlier than 2029, not yet a done deal)

Israel wants to uproot Hamas from Gaza. They acknowledge that Hamas's roots are interwoven with the soil of Gaza. So uprooting one plant means pulling up countless others as well. They are fine with "collateral damage", even though it will mean destruction of the ecosystem.
