An unusual heatwave over Italy: according to weather forecasts, in the center and north, mercury levels will reach record highs up to 36 degrees Celsius.

According to the calendar, we are in the final phase of spring, but observing the temperatures, the feeling is that we are already in the full summer. According to the latest weather forecasts, in the next few hours, the recent heatwave will peak, bringing maximum temperatures to 36 degrees Celsius in some northern cities.

This is a thermal anomaly that, according to meteorologist Lorenzo Tedici, responsible for media at iLMeteo.it, will see northern regions record values 8-9 degrees higher than the average for the period.

Based on the most up-to-date weather models, the hottest cities will be Pavia, Piacenza, Cremona, and Modena. But the heat will affect much of the Padano Plain, where temperatures will reach 35 degrees Celsius in cities such as Turin, Bologna, Alessandria, Asti, Vercelli, Milan, Lodi, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Mantua, Verona, Rovigo, Ferrara, and Forlì.

African heat will also prevail in the Center, where maximum temperatures will stabilize between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius. It will be slightly better in the South, with lower values than the rest of the country.

Anomalous heatwave over Italy: according to weather forecasts, in the center and north, the mercury columns will reach record values up to 36 degrees.

Temperatures will return to levels more in line with late spring only at the end of the month, when across much of Italy the maximums will fall between 32 and 34 degrees. A drop that, however, does not seem destined to bring real relief to Italians, due to the increase in humidity in the lower layers of the atmosphere, which will significantly increase the perceived temperature.

Further worsening the situation will be the atmospheric instability generated by these thermal fluctuations: the energy accumulated by the soil during the hottest hours will favor the development of intense, localized afternoon thunderstorms.

Tomorrow, thunderstorms will affect several areas of the North, while in the Center, bad weather will mainly hit the Apennine areas. In the South, probable afternoon showers will remain likely along the Apennines and, locally, along the Campania coastlines, while elsewhere the weather will remain more stable.

Friday will see the sun return to shine in the North, but the thunderstorm phenomena could be sudden and particularly intense. Instability is also forecast for the Center and South.

Fifty-four arrests were made this morning in five Italian regions – Calabria, Campania, Lombardy, and Lazio – by officers of the State Police, across the provinces of Vibo Valentia, Catanzaro, Reggio Calabria, Cosenza, Benevento, Milan, Rovigo, and Viterbo. The charges range from organized crime, of a mafia-style nature, to association for drug trafficking, attempted murder, aggravated assault, drug trafficking, aggravated damage, possession and carrying of weapons in public places, possession of explosive materials, extortion, violence or threats against public officials, contempt of sentence, aiding and abetting, fraudulent transfer of valuables, and animal cruelty, all aggravated by mafia methods or facilitation.

In the video, the discovery of weapons and drugs, the transport, in the Brianza region, of 80 kilograms of narcotics, and the shooting of several dogs with firearms is shown.

Associazione mafiosa e traffico di droga, ma anche tentato omicidio, lesioni, ricettazione, danneggiamento aggravato e detenzione di armi ed esplosivi, estorsione, violenza o minaccia a pubblico ufficiale, procurata inosservanza di pena, favoreggiamento personale, trasferimento fraudolento di valori ed uccisione di animali. Tutti reati aggravati dal metodo o dall’agevolazione mafiosa secondo la Dda di Catanzaro che, stamattina all’alba, ha fatto scattare il blitz della polizia di stato. L’operazione ha interessato il territorio vibonese e, oltre alle province calabresi, ha riguardato quelle di Benevento, Milano, Rovigo e Viterbo.
Su richiesta del procuratore Salvatore Curcio, la giudice per le indagini preliminari, gip Arianna Roccia ha emesso un’ordinanza di custodia cautelare per 55 persone, 47 delle quali sono finite in carcere. Per altri 8 indagati, il giudice per le indagini preliminari ha disposto l’obbligo di dimora nel Comune di residenza. Tra gli arrestati figurano i vertici della cosca di ‘ndrangheta nota come “Locale dell’Ariola”. L’inchiesta ha stroncato, infatti, le famiglie Emanuele e Idà di Gerocarne attive nel comprensorio delle Serre vibonesi.
Tra i soggetti destinatari dell’ordinanza di custodia cautelare in carcere c’è anche Marco Ferdico, l’ex capo ultrà dell’Inter condannato in primo grado lo scorso giugno a 8 anni di carcere nell’inchiesta “Doppia curva” della Procura di Milano. Già sotto processo per l’omicidio di Vittorio Baiocchi, l’altro capo ultrà ucciso nel capoluogo lombardo il 29 ottobre 2022, nell’inchiesta della Dda di Catanzaro Ferdico è indagato per cinque capi di imputazione relativi ad “aspetti – scrivono gli investigatori – legati al traffico di stupefacenti” gestito dalle cosche vibonesi.

All crimes aggravated by the mafia method or facilitation according to the Catanzaro District Attorney’s Office, which, this morning at dawn, triggered a police state raid. The operation concerned the Vibonese territory and, in addition to the Calabrian provinces, involved those of Benevento, Milan, Rovigo, and Viterbo.

Upon the request of Prosecutor Salvatore Curcio, Judge Arianna Roccia issued an order for preventative custody for 55 people, 47 of whom were arrested and sent to prison. For another 8 suspects, the investigating judge ordered house arrest in their place of residence. Among those arrested were the leaders of the ‘Ndrangheta clan known as “Locale dell’Ariola.” The investigation effectively shut down the Emanuele and Idà families of Gerocarne, active in the Serre Vibonese area.

Already on trial for the murder of Vittorio Baiocchi, the other ultras leader killed in the Lombard capital on October 29, 2022, in the Catanzaro District Attorney’s Office investigation, Ferdico is under investigation for five charges related to “aspects – investigators write – linked to the trafficking of narcotics” managed by the Vibonese clans.
