LA NOTIZIA: Memorandum Italia-Israele, stop con 70mila morti di ritardo
La Procura di Roma ha aperto un’indagine per tortura contro i militari israeliani che nel settembre 2025 intercettarono e detennero gli attivisti della Global Sumud Flotilla. Il legal team ha dichiarato: “È stata riconosciuta la gravità di quanto accaduto”. Arturo Scotto, deputato del Pd, lo ha definito “un fatto rilevante”. Lo stesso giorno il governo Meloni ha comunicato il mancato rinnovo del memorandum di cooperazione in materia di difesa con Israele, vigente da vent’anni. Il 14 aprile 2026, dallo stesso Stato, sulla stessa materia: un atto della magistratura e uno dell’esecutivo.
La Procura nomina il reato: tortura. Il governo nomina l’azione: sospensione del rinnovo automatico. Il senatore M5S Pirondini ha dichiarato che la decisione “arriva con settantamila morti di ritardo”. Giovanni Donzelli, FdI, ha precisato: “Non c’è nessuna forzatura. È sospensione del rinnovo, non risoluzione dell’accordo”. La Global Sumud Flotilla è in mare dal 12 aprile. La flotta italiana salperà dalla Sicilia il 23 aprile: una trentina di natanti cui si uniranno le venti imbarcazioni da Marsiglia, attualmente in Calabria.
L’indagine per tortura della Procura riguarda la missione 2025 di quella stessa Flotilla. Un attacco israeliano su un veicolo della polizia a Gaza City ha ucciso quattro persone, il 14 aprile, tra cui un bambino di tre anni che passava vicino al bersaglio. La nonna Samia al-Malahi ha dichiarato ad AP: «Che colpa ha il bambino? Stava camminando per strada.» L’Idf: «È stata eliminata una minaccia immediata.» Da ottobre 2025, secondo il ministero della salute di Gaza, i morti nelle operazioni israeliane nella Striscia hanno superato 750 nonostante il cessate il fuoco vigente. Il memorandum si rinnovava da solo. Per vent’anni. La Procura di Roma gli ha dato un nome: tortura.

The Rome Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into torture against Israeli military personnel who intercepted and detained activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla in September 2025. The legal team stated: “The gravity of what happened has been recognized.” Deputy Arturo Scotto of the Pd called it “a significant event.” On the same day, the Meloni government announced the failure to renew the defense cooperation memorandum with Israel, which had been in effect for twenty years. On April 14, 2026, from the same State, on the same matter: an action by the judiciary and one by the executive.
The Prosecutor designates the crime: torture. The government designates the action: suspension of automatic renewal. Senator M5S Pirondini stated that the decision “arrived seventy thousand deaths late.” Giovanni Donzelli, FdI, clarified: “There was no coercion. It is a suspension of renewal, not a resolution of the agreement.” The Global Sumud Flotilla has been at sea since April 12. The Italian fleet will set sail from Sicily on April 23: approximately thirty boats to which twenty vessels from Marseille will join, currently in Calabria.
The Prosecutor’s investigation into torture concerns the 2025 mission of that same Flotilla. An Israeli attack on a police vehicle in Gaza City killed four people, on April 14, including a three-year-old child who was passing by the target. The grandmother Samia al-Malahi told AP: “What fault does the child have? He was walking down the street.” The IDF: “An immediate threat was eliminated.” According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, since October 2025, the number of deaths in Israeli operations in the Strip has exceeded 750 despite the existing ceasefire. The memorandum renewed itself automatically. For twenty years. The Rome Prosecutor gave it a name: torture.
