We extended our deck to add some built in planter boxes, which involved pulling up all the old boards ….and instead of wasting the old boards and save some money, we made a stripey pattern of old/new boards. It will eventually even out in color as the wood ages, but for now it is very fun.

The failure was nothing more than 1/4" I.D. vinyl tubing. So I replaced that section of the unit. But it was one of the most miserable repairs I have every undertaken...the thing was clearly designed to prevent anyone getting their hands in there to repair or replace anything. I did it in the end, but with far too much bother, frustrations and (literally) blood.

I hate manufacturers like this. Ossur is the name. Great device, hateful company decisions about repair.

hello fedizens! Please retoot and share for reach.

Has anyone got any experience or info on how to open up a Suunto 9 sports watch? My usual resources are drawing a blank, someone on here may be able to help!

Thanks in advance for supporting local repairers!

I honestly don't think CANBUS would exist if it was conceived in today's world. Manufacturers are doing a hell of job making it harder to access information from the car even with CANBUS (one of the many reasons I won't buy another Honda).

If EV batteries are now projected to last beyond the lifespan of the vehicles they're installed in, should we not prepare for that eventuality?

What if, we propose a regulation for car makers that says something like "make your batteries easily removable for the purposes or repair, replacement or recycling"?

How hard could it possible be? Imagine a world with standardized battery mounts. Hey, we have CANBUS, so we *can* do standards in cars.

Having real trouble with this repair. Dictionary was working but buttons were not always responding. Now I've taken it apart and put it back I'm getting nothing. I fear I've made it worse. Not sure if I cracked a trace or knocked a component off. Always a bad time when a repair gets worse #repaircafe #RepairReuseRecycle

If ever an inanimate electronic object could bring about both angst and joy, it is this one. Garmin Epix pro 2 with the dreaded sticky buttons. Really glad to see it charging!

What a faff the fix was! I can see why commercial repair places charge Β£90 just for the button component now, they don’t actually want to repair them.

I also repair Coros, Samsung, Apple, Huawei, etc. sports watches.

Bummer! Just found this small hole in an otherwise *chef's kiss* sparkly top. The photo doesn't do the gold thread justice.

Fiber artist friends: This is unfortunately smack front & center of the garment. I'm going to give a repair a shot, but this might go into the upcycle / visible mending pile. Thoughts?
