Dear fedi, I’m thinking on replacing some #networking hardware at my place. I need an #AccessPoint and another piece working as a #WiFi6 client for 2 PCs and a SteamLink, no need for mesh.

Considering
• GL.iNet Flint 2 for the AP,
• #Mikrotik hAP ax² for the client.

Does this look OK? Other options worth considering? I like that #GLiNet uses #OpenWRT.

So, I'm trying to pass a cable under the acess point. It's not an in-wall cable so breaking the back tab like the official documentation says is out of question.

I'm quite confused because the cover has white circles like they are tabs that are meant to be broken.

But also, the device itself has these fake holes on the bottom that someone told me that are for drilling and even the "relief map" here has markings to pass the cable from the bottom.

Where should I make a hole to pass the cable from the bottom? Break the circular tabs on the white cover? Drill the bottom of the device?

Also, I'm not sure I'll do it now while it's still in warranty, I don't know how does Mikrotik handle warranty.

Well what do you know – The Electronics Flea Market (EFM) has moved back to Saturday mornings and if you park in lot 2 it is free. Looks as we get to share the campus with the farmer’s market, so I get to peruse fruit & veg for the week and get my nerd on. Hopefully I will find another security appliance from a vendor I do not have yet for my test rack in the garage.
