Putting in the effort to use older computer hardware is something to be very proud of. Most people just give up, throw out their device and buy the next shiny new thing.

Treating HW carefully, cleaning fans, renewing some thermal paste, using an efficient OS, fixing something (or applying some duct tape), replacing a part, using a device with some quirks or problems... I genuinely have lots of respect for people who do any or all of those things.
